Is it just me or has Kerry Katona’s name become synonymous with ‘the big comeback’?
Recently she seems to be everywhere, whether it’s performing on ‘Dancing On Ice’, the cover of the latest magazine or doing the rounds on mid morning TV shows. Fair play to her management, CAN Associates Limited. I haven’t seen such reinvention since Madonna back in her hay-day.
It seems like only yesterday Kerry was on TV proclaiming she was an open book, was off the drugs and how in love she was with her then husband, Mark Croft. What a shock it was, only days later, to hear she was slurring her words on ITV’s This Morning. Not only this, but the News of the World published a video of Kerry snorting cocaine in the home she shared with her children, prompting the media to turn on the former pop star. This led to her losing her endorsement deals with Iceland and Asda.
Fast forward to present day and Kerry is back in the limelight and once again, one of Britain’s many media darlings.
So how did CAN Associates Limited manage to turn the tide?
Claire Powell and Neville Hendricks had Kerry sign a legal document which saw Kerry sign away her lifestyle with her now ex-husband. Within weeks, CAN Associates had moved Kerry and her children across the country, away from the temptation of her previous lifestyle. Not only this, but CAN Associates also hired Kerry a personal trainer and sold ITV2 the rights to Kerry’s transformation from former cocaine user into a caring mother. Signing to CAN Associates has been the best thing for Kerry’s career and has shown some of the best celebrity PR I’ve witnessed.
According to the guardian.co.uk,the best way to describe CAN Associate’s work is describe a typical day in Powell’s professional life.
We’d begin with Can Associates client Peter Andre discussing his breakup with Frank Lampard’s ex – another Can Associates client – on ITV2 show Peter Andre: The Next Chapter (producer: Can TV), while he’s filmed flicking through OK! magazine’s pap shots of Can Associates client Kerry Katona out on on the town with Can Associates client Amy Childs, off The Only Way is Essex, and Can Associates client and glamma model Nicola McLean. Peter might then be driven in a people carrier to a WORLD EXCLUSIVE photoshoot with Kerry, which would see them stage a cupcake fight, beneath the WORLD EXCLUSIVE headline “Peter: I can’t believe what Kerry said about me on her ITV2 show Kerry: The Next Chapter!” Meanwhile, in her exclusive OK! magazine column, Kerry would comment approvingly on the fact that Can Associates clients the Speakmans were giving therapy to Nicola McLean, who was recently paid handsomely for a WORLD EXCLUSIVE OK! magazine interview in which she discussed her eating disorder (pictures ideally shot at the launch of Peter Andre’s latest fragrance).
