Hot Wheels: It’s Hot Wheels for real!

This is one pretty amazing PR stunt in my eyes. I loved Hot Wheels as a child. This PR stunt is making me want to clamber up into the attic to play with my set!

Team Hot Wheels drivers, Tanner Foust and Greg Tracy set a Guinness World Record racing two vehicles through a six-story double vertical loop at the 2012 X Games in Los Angeles.  At a speed of 52 MPH, managing to pull 7 Gs, they ran up and over the two life-sized tracks. After several practice runs last week, the safety nets were removed as the throngs of X-Games spectators watched the duo scale the track, complete the loops and perform a jump at the end. While both drivers survived the loops, Tracey’s modified car suffered massive suspension failure after the final jump, with the left-rear wheel slamming to the ground as the spring and damper liberated themselves from inside the wheel well.

One pretty cool stunt, I’m sure you will all agree…

Love Niamh x
