Internships

For anyone who may have missed John Gallagher’s email regarding Internships, they are as below:

Sinead Whooley writes:

HIQUA, the Heakth and Information Quality Authority is looking to recruit a PR Intern. Its through the IBEC gradlink system so I’ve included a link to the details below. Its open to anyone who meets the criteria. People who are not recent graduates can also apply but they will not get the social welfare cover. This is an unpaid internship. This goes against the grain for my own personal preferences but HIQA is a public sector organisation and the recruitment ban means it has to be unpaid. I will provide on the job training and certificates of achievement so it will be worth doing.

PR Wise is a relatively new PR Agency, established in January ’09 with offices in Cork and Dublin. We are a full service agency and our current client base includes both Irish and international companies.

We are hoping to recruit an intern in the next couple of weeks as we have recently started working with a number of new clients. We would hope that this would progress in to a full time position following an initial trial period. The position would be based in the Dublin office.

I am working for Maverick Publicity in central London. We are a Fashion PR agency. We have a number of established brands on our client list and maybe one of the past MAPRS who may be in London may be interested in undertaking an internship with us. This internship is rolling so would also be open to current students in summer if they were to come to London.

Details:

INTERNSHIP: – Unpaid

HOURS: – 9 – 6 w/ 1 hour lunch break

TRAVEL: – Reimbursed up to £50 per week on presentation of receipts. If you are using a travelcard for the month you will only need to present 1 receipt.

DRESS: – Smart/casual. Do not worry too much, just no obvious loungewear or dirty trainers.

DUTIES: – In your initial first few weeks you will be supporting the showroom manager with the picking and booking out/in of samples, ensuring the office is tidy and organized at all times, helping with press events, conducting research for all clients, updating databases, contacting journalists in relation to samples/press events. Although these duties will continue for the duration of your internship, the responsibilities you are given are dependent on your attitude and application to the jobs in hand.

Pass on the details of the students if any are interested.

Many Thanks,
